When I was in Maui I walked into many of the renowned art galleries they have in Lahaina. All were amazing and had me weeping for my trite excuse for talent, but the international galleries hosting names as Picasso, Dali, and Sir Anthony Hopkins did not leave me nearly as breathless and impressed than how it was to view this artist’s personal gallery. You may have seen his work throughout tumblr before. Vladimir Kush is a Russian fantastic and surrealism painter who evidently considers Salvador Dali to be his greatest inspiration. Like Dali, most of his work draws from folklore and old mythological imagery. He also makes sculptures and jewelry which elaborate on his paintings. Click pictures for a better view and captions.

Other favorites I couldn’t include are: WebMaster, Eye of the Needle, Matrix of Love, and Planet Sunflower.

I just wanted to share. (not my photos!)

Technology vs. Patience

To think I can pick up one device and message someone…instantly, pay bills…instantly, listen to music…instantly, read a book..instantly, watch a baseball game…instantly, and even make dinner reservations for later that night. And I can allow for all of my “friends and followers” to see every move I make. The key word with all technology is instant. Instant this, instant that. These devices go way beyond instant coffee, they are speedy, they are quick, and they are almost completely wait free. Is this putting a damper on our patients? Probably. Technology has become just another extension of ourselves. If I have to wait for a YouTube video to load it annoys me, if I have to wait for a song to download it bothers me, and yet chances are I never have to wait more than 90 seconds.

Of course I love technology, I am glued to my iPhone and I use my laptop as my main source of news, television, and overseas contact. I just think it’s important if we all stop and realise how the world is at our fingertips, and usually at lightning speed. I know I need to remember that waiting for a webpage to load isn’t the end of the world.
